Our little ghoul

This past week week has been super hectic. Thanksgiving weekend meant lots of family visits - which was awesome but very exhausting for all of us. This week Harper has been teething and of course to add to that fun, I haven't been feeling well on top of everything. Nothing is worse than not feeling well and wanting to curl up in bed but having a grumpy baby who wants to nurse 100 times a day. Poor little monkey.
This adorable outfit is from BabyGap - of course - and it is so darn cute. The hat just tops off the entire outfit. I'm excited for Harpers first Halloween, even though I didn't get the costume I initially wanted for her. She's going to be a flower - how boring. Haha. Either way, she looks adorable in anything so in the end it doesn't matter. We have started to make a play area in the basement for her so she has more room to crawl around. We just recently got a new t.v and are currently re-arranging furniture to make the most use of the space. I think I might make a post about her play area once it's complete.
I'm hoping these teeth don't take forever to come up, although today has been a lot better thus far. I hate when she doesn't feel well.
On a happier note, miss Josie turns 3 today. She's so cute. She can be an absolute pain in my ass on a constant basis with her anxiety and barking BUT she is truly the sweetest dog ever. So happy birthday to our first baby :)

Such a beauty

Harper is growing into the most beautiful little girl, right before our eyes. When I look at her lately, she seems so grown up. She's crawling all over, almost walking and throwing tantrums! She makes Fraser and I laugh constantly with her random dancing and silly faces. She sleeps through the night and eats food with zero problems. Feels like it was just last month she was still sleeping in our bed, waking every couple of hours (yikes) and refusing to eat solids.
She loves books. Mind you, I can only keep her still enough to read one with me for maybe 3 minutes BUT she loves looking at the pictures and all of the funny voices I do when reading to her.
She absolutely loves any sort of organic puff or plain Cheerios. She feeds herself like a pro and zero gagging (YAY). This is great because she's a snacker like her mother, so these kinds of little snacks come in handy throughout the day. You do have to watch her very carefully though because she likes to see how many she can fit in her mouth at once ;)
It's so cute because she is so proud that she can finally properly crawl - no more pulling her self all over. It was exhausting to watch because it took so much more strength than crawling normally.
Funny thing is, she's almost walking and it's only been the past week that she has been crawling normally. She stands up all by herself and will take a few steps before falling onto her bum (which she is not a big fan of to say the least). She gets very frustrated, very easily, another wonderful trait of her mothers ;) BUT she's almost always got a smile on her face just like her sweet daddy <3

Happy October 1st!!

October 1st marks the first day of Halloween celebrations for me. Even though Harper is only 10 and a half months and has no clue what Halloween is - I still plan to deck her all out in cute Halloween outfits and make memories she can look back on when she's older.
Harper is rocking her new Halloween outfit from Carters. I love these two piece tutu outfits they make. They seem super cozy but super cute at the same time. Her socks are from Oldnavy.
Cutest tutu bum ever!
We cuddled up with a cozy blanket and were reading her new books "Room on the Broom" and "Little Owls Night". She doesn't stay still for long, so we go through the whole book and look at all of the pictures. She gets really excited whenever we sit down with a book but very quickly wants to escape to get into whatever she can get her hands on.
She loves to sit and open the pages on her books, it's the sweetest thing ever. I highly recommend both of these books for the fall season.
After a few minutes of looking at the pictures she decided she wanted to shimmy her way onto the floor and just laid there smiling and looking up at me. She is so funny and SOO busy.
Super excited to go pick out this little monkeys costume for the end of the month. I haven't decided what I want her to be. But I have decided that I'm going to dress up like a witch. Now I have to convince Fraser to dress up. Haha.

Harpers First Birthday Planning

Today consisted of a lot planning for Harper's first birthday, which is fast approaching *yikes*. I had finalized her invitation design and printed them out. I started creating a list of finger foods I want to make and drink options. I'm thinking comfort foods and tasty drinks - including maybe a hot chocolate bar :) The theme for her birthday is winter ONEderland - yes November isn't technically winter but pretty damn close. I got the ONEderland theme off of pinterest and I could not resist!
I was in our dining room/sitting room, working on birthday stuff while this little peanut crawled around the floor next to me, getting into everything!
She is on the move - constantly. I should add that the other day she got startled by the dog and flung herself back, hitting her head off of a plastic coin (goes with her treasure chest toy) - she lost her mind, and so did I. She cried..I cried. It was terrible. She had an outline of the toy imbedded in her head - I almost ordered her a mini helmet. Why do they have to hurt themselves? Yes I know it's part of them growing up and becoming more independent. BUT it freaking sucks. Seeing your child..your little human..cry because they've hurt themselves is total torture.

I can't believe that in a month and a half, we're going to be celebrating a year since this little beauty came into this world. Waaaaahhhhhh!

Oh and she's still obsessed with all of the curtains in our house.

There is going to be lots of gold and glitter at Harpers birthday party!

I'm also going to be making a DIY massive chalkboard that I will have decorated and propped against the wall on the table with her smash cake, cupcakes and desserts (it will be amazing!). I'm also wanting to make some fun gold pom pom garland and a photo garland that will have pictures from every month of her first year. I also came across an amazing idea off of pinterest (#obsessed), that consists of a black artboard with all of her favourite things outlined in fun bright fonts. It would make a great keepsake and would look awesome in her room for decoration. Guess a trip to Michaels is in order!

I'm going to post along the way as I plan more and collect/make more decorations.
